Doctor Strange has the Eye of Agomotto which sees all truth. Loki is the God of Disception, therefore Doctor Strange would win, because he would be able to see through all of Loki's disceptions. That's a great question.

Even though Doctor Strange is the Sorceror Supreme of our dimension, Asgard is not in our dimension. And even though DS could see through Loki's lies with the Orb of Amogatto, Loki KNOWS that DS has it and is well versed in misdirection using truths as well as lies. Power wise, Loki probably has an edge. Even if Strange tried to call on otherdimensional help, the Trickster would probably be able to out power him. I am afraid that in a contest between Stephen Strange and the sorceror son of Odin, it would turn out to be a low-key event.

Yes, even in the heroes reborn series where Loki has an intrest in helping Dr Strange by telling him to go to the Nexus, Strange mutters "Curse me for a novice" Loki is much more powerful and experienced

Loki, he simply has more power, skill and several centuries of knowledge and experience to draw upon. Regardless of HOW powerful Dr. Strange (one of my favorite characters BTW) has become, Loki is still a GOD and as such has more of everything to draw upon. Disregarding the usual idea that good guys HAVE to win because the are good, Loki has enough of everything to win.

Agreed. Doctor Strange has learned a lot in, what, 30 years of study (remember he was a celebrated surgeon before he even started on the path to becoming a sorcerer, and he can't be that much over 50 as it is. And when it comes down to it, he's still only human.
Loki is a demi-god (son of the Allfather, no less), has had thousands of years to hone his spellcasting abilities, and he's also the greatest liar and trickster who ever lived.

Steve may well put up a good fight, but even he'd know he was onto a lost cause.

Loki is dead he died during ragnorok in Thor dissassembled with the rest of the asguardian gods and thor (although they are bringing thor back), dr. strange would win this contest easily.
