been with the employer for 5 years and been turned down for pay increase twice, had no evaluation since I started working.

no, it is not right. check out your companies policy manual to see if this is mandatory. find out if others have been receiving a salary increase.

No one is entitled to a raise, after any length of time. You are worth as much as you can get, or as little as you are willing to accept. If you are underpaid, that is your own fault, for staying with this employer.

You should get at least 2 to 3% raise twice yearly.

the value of the job vs the bucks..if its not worth it then move on but before you do have the next one planned out...sell what you need because many people assume status quo is ok if you dont.
