i didnt really get the question..are you asking about winning and losing?
well .. from my point of view..the war in iraq is bad for you americans as much as it's bad for us..i get so much hurt just to see these young gentelmen upon their tanks when i walk around in baghdad..and i get so much more hurt when i talk to them..when i see that they all have families waiting for them, and when i see the hope in their eyes for getting back there alive..i wish i can do anything to help them..
on the other hand..we iraqis are getting killed for something we didnt do..al-Qaida is eating us from one side and the american government is eating the other side..
simply..it's a war between bush and al-Qaida in a place that none of them is hurt..only innocent americans & iraqis are ...

I have thought about this a lot and I think the answer is Yes.
The initial war was not a thing like Vietnam, it was am actual war - vs Saddam and his troops and USA won it, and well done chaps (I'm not british, but its a handy reference)
But what is going on now is a struggle of ideology. Its Sunni vs Shitte vs Kurd.
Its ethnic, its religious, American's are just caught in the crossfire. The people who kidnapped that American Journalist, the girl, whose Jill Carrol, i was about to say whose name i cannot remember. They told her it was the sunnis who were the no. 1 enemy, america 2.
In vietnam, it was communist vs capitalist.
Its a war that cannot be won on a battlefield, American cannot win this war through military strength. And they are making the same mistakes they made in Vietnam. They tried to win that war for south Vietnam, it was not their war to win or lose, they can help, but it was up to south vietnam, and they folded as soon as American's started to leave.
This 'war' will be won in Minds, and communities, not through bombs.
American has no influence over minds in Iraq anymore. Its up to the Iraqi leaders, the regional leaders, local leaders, anyone, to stand up and say "all people unite"
They have to stop the cycle of violence, stop the traditional hatred between these groups, and its hard.
There was this great show I saw online which was made by some comedians in the UK before the Iraq war, talking about Iraq, and britians influence in Iraq (they ruled it in the early 20th century). They had the same problems with ethnic and religious fighting. How did they deal with it? well they got these tribal groups to unite rather easily, they united to throw the british out.
How did the British deal with uprisings? well we all know that Saddam bombed the villages, what did the british do? They bombed the villages.
Sorry, trailed off, but good pieces of information.

We ddin't lsoe the war in a protection stress sence we gained each significant conflict and campain with complete victories even with the indisputable fact that it grew to become into the media and the poloticans who made us pull out the war grew to become into mandatory to end conniusm althoguht we offical lost it we'd have gained if it wern't for the media and the poloticans I mean in over a decade of war we lost much less men than we lost in a million 12 months in ww2 it grew to become right into a victory jsut like iraq and Afganistan however the media is as quickly as returned going to fee us this war

I would say so. So many comparisons; having the young fight it, very disputed reason for even being there, down to the PTSD that the veterans end up suffering from (not speaking for all of them, but war has happened since forever, and yet it wasn't prevalent until after 'Nam).

not even close. I don't think it's great over there but there were a lot more casualties in Vietnam than in Iraq. I don't think there will be the post traumatic stress issues out of Iraq that there were with Vietnam.

I've answered this question so many times, I'm getting sick of seeing it. Why don't people pay attention when they are asking their questions and see that it has already been asked? Maybe these people think if they continue to say something that it will eventually be true.

No, in Vietnam we didn't know who our enemy was. We sent our men in there with blindfolds on. Yet they did their duty and served our country and we are damn proud of them!!!!!!! In Iraq, we know our enemy and they have no problem killing themselves and innocent Iraq citizens just so they can kill an American. Our troops are doing what is commanded of them. Whether we agree with it or not, they are giving their lives for future freedom and we are damn proud of them!!!!!!!!!!!!
