Keep the area moisturised with plenty of cream, and you don't have to use the expensive stuff, any will do. Baby oil after a bath or shower is excellent also, but you must start as soon as the bump shows if not sooner, pay attention to the area from your belly button down to your pubic bone as this skin is the most delicate and stretches easily.
There is no guarantee that you still won't get some marks, but they should be white instead of red so not as noticeable.
Good luck with the birth.

Though theres no guarentee thing to stop strech marks during pregnancy, i know something that will most defintly help. Its Cocoa butter lotion by the makers "Palmers". It either comes in a lotion form or an oil form. THere about 7-8 dollars a bottle at any drugstore liek walmart, target, walgreens, etc. Rub that on your stomach morning, afternoon and night. ALways keep it mosit with the lotion and try not to stratch. I guarentee you'll have little or no strech marks. I really hope this helps!! And good luck and bless you and your baby!!!

I used Palmers cocoa butter, they do one especially for pregnant women now, its about £5 but that was quite good. My sister used nothing and is covered in them but I used that and have hardly any (I had twins second time round too!!)
They reckon you can't do anything to stop them but I haven't got too many. Bio-Oil is for getting rid of stretch marks I think, not to prevent them....
Good Luck with your pregnancy

i tried endless amounts of cocoa butter but it had NO effect and i can't stand the stuff now!! Drinking PLENTY of fluids will definitely help your skin to stay elastic, and pregnancy vitamins may help too. Keep walking to maintain good circulation and try yoga to help stretch your body in preparation.

Sometimes they cant be avoided. My acupuncturist told me to take zinc tablets during pregnancy . It stops the stretchmarks having any colour, so if u do get them u will barely be able to see them.

You can get that same lotion that Nightsky was speaking of the Palmers cocoa butter lotion at Family dollar for 3 bucks.
