How about something Brit pop like blur or oasis or even Pulp everyone always sings along to common people.

Try some classic disco tracks.
The Bee Gees Sister Sledge etc are guaranteed to get the party started but isn't too cheesy.

I love it when somebody sings 'daydream believer' at the karaoke, it's a real feelgood song and everybody always joins in!!(especially after a few beers!!)
