Laloo Prasad Yadav has NOT made railways profitable overnight. It is simply not possible.
By crediting profits of railways to Laloo you are taking away credit from railways top official and previous government. Nobody can turn over such a big company overnite leave alone Laloo.
I am not against or for Laloo, but just check his record in Bihar, had he had some magic wand, he would have made Bihar atleast a livable place.
Criticism apart, overall Laloo has done some good work as Railways minister, he should credited for that, but it is not Overnite job .. its just that he happened to be minister at right time. His timing is right .. thats it.

Laloo no doubt is a good administrator. He had simply asked the executive to see that efficiency of Indian Railways improve and adopt policy to plug the losses and he had given a free hand to executives to deal the subject to their discretion. Non interference in the expert field is a very right policy and Laloo adopted and achieved a good name. It was on the process of development and Laloo gave a boost and strictly maintained his executives performance. He does know the simple technics of achieving good results. Laloo is a useful person for the Nation.

He himself says he learned one great leadership principle from his farmer friends and ancestors: "Lead the bull by the horn from front, never by the tail from behind". I guess that principle, and some common sense and lots of guts, resulted in good management as well!
