I am concerned about my sister. She has been on oxygen continually since January. Her prescription is at level 2 . If she gets stressed or overexerted she will turn it up to 3.She is very dependent on it. I'm worried that she is getting too much.

if she's having oxygen at 3 when her prescription is just 2 L/min then you should be concerned. carbon dioxide is the main reason why people breath since the brain signals the respiratory organs that theres CO2 in the body, upon breathing the CO2 is expelled. in you sister's case, the brain would think that she doesnt need to vbreath since she has enough oxy due to the apparatus until such time that the brain will forget to send a signal to the respi organs and she will also forget to breath, literally.

O2 is addictive. I do not know her medical condition but try to wean her off it at least part time.
