Only four! People in your area are leaving it late compared to people round my way, however I know I'm not in real trouble til I start hearing people humming 'Mistletoe and Wine'!

I think that Christmas decorations should be restricted to December - I can understand that people enjoy Christmas and celebrating the time of year with the people they love but there's such a thing as overkill! It should be the positive feelings from Christmas that should last all year, not commercialism and cheap tinsel!

I have seen 6 houses in my town with visible decorations up for Christmas already. I posted my Christmas cards out today as I'm the early bird in my family. I haven't yet decorated and plan to decorate on the weekend of the 2-3rd December.
Why do they decorate early? you ask.......hmmmm because they are keen and love Christmas as it's exciting for a great many families. I think it's nice and gives a nice atmosphere to be surrounded by Christmas things, my kids love Christmas. My 6 yr old daughter and I have written out 24 cards to hand out at school very soon and they have lots of lovely stickers on them.
I like the comment of an earlier respondent.......it's better than road rage.
I hear ya!
PS the earliest person I know who decorated for christmas was back in 2000 and they had fully decorated in September of that year. The lady was pregnant and due in the November and it's hot in Australia so she decorated to get that job out of the way so she could relax. So there's many reasons, maybe some people go away on holidays, some may start early as they have a lot of electrical lights to set up, some are just plain keen.
Merry Christmas to you.

Way too early. Here in the states all the stores are all decorated for Christmas and even some homes. I think of Christmas after our Thanksgiving Day.

I know where you are coming from! However a lot of houses in my area do it for charity. Yes they dress up their house and when people come round they are invited to put a donation in the box for the chosen charity. I'ts a good idea but I do think it's slightly early to be decorating your house now. Plus I'd get bored of the mess in the house!

Yoda, bonfire night is on 5th November, It's when we set up a mound of wood put a Guy on the top and set it alight, we also have fireworks eat/drink to much.....It's all about a man named Guy Fawkes who plotted to blow up the houses of Parliament. When he was caught he was hung, drawn and quartered.....ANYWAY
People spend to much at Christmas and maybe just want to get the most from it.. Bless, if it makes them happy why not.

Well each one for themselves, some do so out of tradition, custom, and maybe even out of excitement, Tis the season to be jolly right? They arent bothering you so let them do what makes them feel happy, let them celebrate it early, its all done in the spirit of joy. If your really are curious go up to them and ask them and you just mgiht be surprised at the answers you get, you might just be convinced to decorate your place early as well . :)

dashing Christmas has been pushed to the cut back, earlier long they are going to draw close Christmas products up good after July 4th. the clarification they do it is by technique of the fact they like you to save early. subsequently warding off the final minute procuring rush. The retail businesses are purely attempting to pay the charges, purely as we do. extra time, utilities, heating and different expenses during the holiday trips value vast greenbacks for the retailers. they are purely attempting to get forward.

Their opinions differ from yours. If they want to decorate earlier and enjoy the decorations longer, it's their choice.
