Change your breathing patterns. Hiccups are basically hitches in your current breathing pattern. Try breathing in and out really fast for a minute or two.

Do something that requires thinking. Like a crossword puzzle or something. I read somewhere that if you have the hiccups and someone asks you a silly question, like 'how far did the elephant jump', that when you stop to think then your hiccups go away. So, I thought if that works why won't just regular thinking. I tried it, and it works for me.

This works for me every time. Get a soup spoon and scoop a big spoon full of sugar and hold your nose ,tightly, and take the whole spoonful of sugar all at once and chew it slowly while you're holding you nose, and of course, you're holding your breath all that time too. When the sugar is gone, let go of your nose. Hiccups will be gone. I promise.(If you do it right that is)

Fill a cup full of water, bend over and drink from the other side of the cup so technically you would be drinking upside down. Always worked for me. Or just try to hold your breath and relax.

You won't like it, but the only scientificly proven method to stop hiccups is by placing a finger up iside your rectum. Please note that I have not used this, New Scientist said that a well-known German had discovered the real solution.

Yes. Suck in as much air as you can through your mouth (like, make an air balloon with your mouth), hold your breath and slowly count to 10. I swear it works!

I have a cure that always works for me...

Drink a glass of water very very slowly...never stopping...when you feel like you are about to drown...keep going...you will then be cured...
