Check out the NVQ programme through you local adult education college. You will find that Level 4 will enable you to move forward. Do that first, then consider doing Level 5, which is an equivalent to a Degree.

You should be able to discuss what you want to do with a careers adviser at the college.

Well you could always try a Personal Assistant course. It gives u a little more in terms of dutys to the Managing Director, and the money is better. Why not visit your local college and ask there for advice?

Get a prospectous and see what you can do.

Working at your local council would be a good way to move up - they usually encourage people to do training (paid for by the council), and to move around within the council, taking on different types of tasks and working in different departments. In a year or two you could find yourself in a very different job with more responsibility, and more interest.
