Just before you ovulate. Usually this occurs about 2 weeks after the start of your period, although it varies from woman to woman. Since sperm can live for up to a week inside you, the best thing to do is to have loads of sex (daily if possible) from the end of your period for a week/ 10 days. I find that I'm feeling v fruity at this time anyway!!!! I can recognise when i ovulate from the change in my vaginal secretions (go from white to colourless and sticky). You need to learn to get to know your own menstrual cycle as others have suggested, i'm lucky in that i'm very regular.

From about 2-3 days before (but might be up to 6-7 days, depending on conditions), to 24 hours after ovulation. Soem women ovulate erratically or at very random intervals.

If you do not know the natural signs of ovulation, it might be worth accessing a few natural contraception websites. If your signs are absent or undetectable, there are ovulation detection kits available commercially

Good luck..

The average cycle is 28 days... for about 3-5 days smack dab in the middle of your cycle you ovulate (so you're supposed to... everyone works different, but generally that's when it happens). It generally lasts 2-3 days.

So between about 12-15 days after your last period is the optimum time. Also keep in mind the sperm can live in the uterus for up to 3 days.
