Love it! Great food, wine, countryside with mountains, lakes, valleys, rivers etc etc, wonderful contrasting coastlines. I was once told a joke by a french friend that France was God's definitive work of art when he created the earth so to even up the balance he created the french. The people are in fact well worth getting to know, of course the stereotypes exist as in any other nation but in general the french are fairly easy going, welcoming and just ask to be treated fairly without preconceived ideas and in addition with at least the respect that one of Europe's foremost nations deserve. They will even admit that they deserved to be beaten by the All Blacks. Seriously unless you live in France you will never get a true feeling for what a great place and a good people. I am of British origin and have lived in 8 different countries during my over half a century on this planet

France is a wonderful country. I lived there for years.
To those that say Paris or Parisians are horrible, you can never have gone to London as an outsider. The place is filth outside of the tourist centre, I think Paris is a lot cleaner.
The last time I was in London I asked a newspaper vendor where a particular theatre was, he turned to me and said " What do you think I am A F**king quiz kid". I found it minutes later not far from where he was standing.

Whenever I hear France unconsciously ,I think about the grammar with lots of rules and exceptions.
By the way I only met few French people who were nice and kind.
On the other hand I like france history and used to read many novels about it.

I don't have reasons to complain. I think French people have some issues with English people, but I understand it (most French people I met, thought I was English and they were a little bit rude, but after telling them that I am Portuguese, they treated me very well). You have a lovely country, great wine, great food, lovely language, etc.
However, I think the French people will always be hated, because France and French people have their own ideas, and they don't ask permission to anyone else. I admire that in any country, it's so rare to have the guts to say, 'mind your own business'.

I like Paris, it is beautiful. The Wine is good, not to keen on the food. The French people are okay once you can speak the language. I think they hate it when people speak English to them especially in France.

I love the food and the culture around food - I had a French friend in England and she managed to cook a fancy stew by herself, very impressive. And the accent is sexy.

As for Parisians being snobs, that may or may not be true - but they probably have every right to be! Damn tourists!

They always seem to go left when evryone else is going right if you see what I mean.

They even build car engines with No 1 cylinder next to the dash on an inline engine.

Strange to say the least.

As an American, lets just say that they disappoint us time and time again, they are NOT the favorite people of the Americans right now, and quite frankly, I have no use for them, when is the European community going to stop preaching to the Americans, don't they realize that their recent past history is NOT good, we have eyes you know, nor do we care what they think.
