I was a few days late on my period so i took a pregnancy test which was positive. i already have 2 children aged 4 and 2 and after discussing it with my fiance we have decided a termination would be the best thing to do.i have researched my options on the net and have decided that i want an early medical abortion (abortion pills).it is my understanding from the net that if i have the pills before 8 weeks i can come home after the second tablet but between 8 and 12 weeks i will have to stay in hospital whilst the abortion actually happens.i visited my GP the day after taking the test and he says i have to wait for an appointment at the hospital (st james's TH,leeds) he tells me i am 5 weeks pregnant going by the first day of my last period (8th october) i took the test a few days after i missed my period and went to the GP straight away. i am very and worried and the gp couldnt tell me much info.has any1 had the abortion pills on the nhs and can you tell me the prosess beginning to end

If staying in hospital is your biggest worry then dont' be, Your doctor should have gone through things better with you so maybe you should go and visit your local family planning clinic
Either way an abortion only takes around an hour, I went with my friend for an abortion she was around 11 weeks and we were out of there within two hours, you dont have to stay in overnight or any thing unless there was complications.
I agree it would be less traumatic for you to take the pills and not go through a proper operation so if your doctor wont help get your self to a clinic like i suggested.
Good Luck xxx

Hi, i was 5 weeks when i found out, i went to the doctors and it took 3 weeks till i got an appointent, when i went i was 8 weeks. you go 2 the hospital and all they do is give you a tablet the first day and take blood, you have to wait there for an hour 2 check you have no side affects. then you come back the next day and have to insert 2 tablets up your passage and wait in the hospital for 8 hours untill you have passed everything. You have to keep goin into the toilet and weeing into a bed pan. it is very painful, worst experience of my life.I wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy. They do give you very strong pain killers though and it helps a bit. I wish you good luck, hope everything goes well, if you need to know anything else then just email me. :-)

i think the NHS make you wait to make you feel guilty, i went to the dr when i was 9 weeks pregnant a few years ago to have an abortion, at this stage i couldve had a D&C, i eventually had the abortion at 13 weeks and by this time i had to go through a 8 hour labour and give birth to it!! bbloody shocking!!
just go to your GP and ask him to hurry things along as these things cant be delayed
good luck

Google 'abortion pill' a number of sites will come up. I think there is an option to go private, but that might be costly.
Good luck,

you go in to the hospital and there will ask you question, you then have a scan and then you are giving pills, and it is straight forward after you will bleed and you might have some pain you might even see the baby... and then a couple of days you go back to have the second tablet..
good luck hoped i helped

a friend of mine had these abortion pills, I think you have to take them for 3-4days at exactly the same time eachday.....she was in absolute agony. Rolling around the floor and very upset. I suppose if you get what you want it is worth it. It did work and afterwards she was fine.
I hope this helps a little!

Since when is killing your own child "the best thing to do?" Your unborn son or daughter is depending on you, his or her mum, for protection. At five weeks (approximately three weeks since conception), your baby already has a beating heart.
Are you aware of how the "abortion pill" works? It works against a hormone needed to maintain your placenta, cutting off nourishment to your unborn child. Your son or daughter will starve to death inside your womb. Are you really the type of mother who can do this to her own child?
Are you further aware that 12 women have died from taking the abortion pill? See:
http://www.lifeissues.org/ru486/deaths.htm
You SHOULD be worried--for yourself and for your baby. It is still not too late to do the right thing and let your baby live.

I was just wondering are you using any type of birth control to stop from being pregnant? I'm not trying to judge you please don't take it that way. Can you not afford another baby? Because you only have 2 kids now......and their is help. I was just wondering. And I hope you've really thought this out. Good Luck to you, and your family. My prayers are with you!

this is the NHS they wont hurry anything along for anyone .... i think its disgusting ..... they make u wait for appointments and u have to wait and as time goes by it gets harder and harder for u ..... the only advice i can really give is to can u afford to go private and do it ? its quicker and u can start to grieve and get over it .... the waiting game is the hardest part ...
good luck ...
