Can I install Windows Media player 9.00 on win98 OS to receive live stream. What is the latest version of win media player that can be installed on win98

You can't. The last Windows 98 compatible media player that Microsoft had realeased was Media Player 7.0. This version was released somewhere around 2000-2001. Somewhere that year they have stopped support for Windows 98. But for installation on Media player 7.0, as I remember, we hadd to install Internet explorer 6.0.

The current version of Windows media player is 11 and has much better options than Media player 7.0.

Not sure about Win98. I was able to get Media Player 9 through Windows Update or Microsoft website using WinME.

No, Microsoft has terminated its support for Windows 98 and Windows 2000, so you can't download it in the 1st place. If you are going to copy it from a CD, then it may run.

nope it is billy's policy that you have to upgrade the os to use the latest goodies. this is like this "" every time they relay the road you have to buy a new car""
