Why do you assume that all used to be land? That is not a reasonable assumption to make. Marine sandstones can be seen throughout geologic history.

All used to be water (land under sea), not land... and it was dark and lifeless... So He came and divided water from land... If you look at the mountains, you’ll see different kinds of forms, all was under water.

no its not that there was no water, its that all the land was one peice with water all a round it.
