How about people like Bob & Doris Hope, married for 50+ years....Paul Newman & Joann Woodward, still married after 50 some years...Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman...ask them what the secret of their marital success is. I don't think it's about celebrity as much as it is about love, respect and communication.

No it wouldnt work. Its called fate. If a marriage is not meant to work out its not meant to work out. Dolly Parton is not the best example being her marriage is an open marriage and she was messing around with Porter Waggoner all the time. I never liked her and think if she got caught in a time space warp and was sent back to 1600s Salem Mass she'd be burned at the stake.Thus why I dont listen to her form of Country Music her voice annoys me only 2 points less than Carrie Underweed's. Not meaning to hurt your feelings but I just had to state my opinion. I gave up on celebs a while back. I'm just not enamored with Hollywood,New York or Nashville. Look to your family and friends for inspiration all Idols eventually turn out to have feet of clay.

It is rumoured that they have an "OPEN" marriage. If that is true, then why be married??Trust makes a marriage. 40 years is a long time in today's world. I give them credit, but if they really do have an "OPEN" marriage they're really no different than the others, they just choose to stay together.

None in my opinion . .Dolly Parton has had so much plastic surgery to look good and that is maybe why her husband has not left . .she does not want to look like a shriveled prune I guess . .

Probably. Many are celebrities because they crave attention. When someone takes the attention from them, it's bound to get ugly.
