I've been doing customer service since I was 15 (I'm 23 now). Customer service is really getting to me and I'm ready to kill someone. I used to work and manage a clothing store before going into hotels so I have mangement expereice. But I don't want to go back to it. I want to get out of the whole customer service industry all together. What else is there? I can't afford to go to school or take out loans because of bad credit, so even school is out of the question. I'm worried I'm going to get fired for flipping out on a guest (that's how bad it's getting) I just want to find a new job that pays around $10/hour.

You could do data entry. You could be a computer operator. You could be a cook. You could be a driver. That is just off the top of my head. Check out the newspaper want ads or Yahoo jobs or monster.com. But (sorry, I know you didn't ask this) PLEASE don't say "I can't afford to go to school". That may be true NOW. But don't limit yourself. You may have the money to do that later. There are lots of schools that do not require tuition. You may be able to get a loan, credit notwithstanding. If you decide to do something you will find a way. But if you decide not to do it, you won't!

If you don't like the public, then try an office. You apparently know stuff, like computers, and stuff, like in an office. Shouldn't be hard to pick it up. Just do a resume, and say you would like a change, etc. Put down all that you know how to do, and start looking in the classified ads. What about the newspaper business, just working in the office. There are a number of things you could do. IT might not be with the public, but still talk to customers in the business , that is the customers that the business sells their items to, like if it was oilfield stuff, etc., you would have maybe the same people to talk to. Good luck. It should not be too hard to get $10/hr.

Talk to your boss, or more important since I read your previous question, Your bosses boss or human resource. You sound like you actually care about the guest. The higher ups might actually notice that and might retain you in another less stressful position. If a costumer wigs out on you and your supervisor ignores your plea for help. People will notice that too.

Look for a data entry job. They tend to pay about $10/hr. or check your local hospital web sites for jobs open to the public.

Visit a garden nursery. You never know, they may just be looking for someone. Plenty of fresh air and the work is interesting. Good luck.
