I subscribed DirecTV about a year ago. I have been on an extended vacation in Australia since Feb. this year, and will not be returning to the States until at least January or Feb. of 2007. I have been emailing DirecTV requesting to discontinue all of my services with DirecTV repeatedly, and all I got was emails telling me that there are "guidelines" that needed to follow, and that a representative would call me and discuss the issues with me. I gave them my telephone number (and postal address) here in Australia, but nobody ever contacted me. Initially, I planned on staying in Australia for only three months, and then later I changed my mind and decided to stay here for at least one whole year. Base on past experience with DirecTV, if I call them, they would put me on hold for a very long period of time, and I cannot afford an expensive telephone bill. Who should I complain to about this???

Why not just call them, and tell them your situation. Slowly if needed.. I know sometimes those people just need to be told three or four times what you want, in order to even talk to you about it. I've never had a problem with them, but you never know.. You just keep pushing "0" to talk to someone. Normally it goes right through without a hold for me. No more emails, that's just pushing your problem off to another side.. And making your bill higher...You need to talk to a real person. 1-800-directv

Did you request any improve 9 months in the past? Or, perhaps a service call? if so, and a receiver replaced into exchanged, then that receiver that the tech took out of your position replaced into not deactivated, because it may have and somebody else is utilizing it without paying a dime. both the technician or someone from the warehouse the position it replaced into taken to. people at Directv recognize precisely the position that receiver is at, if the PPV instruct replaced into requested by a telephone line. yet another danger is that someone understanding your information extra that field on your account without your consent for obtrusive motives.

What's cheaper? Paying for a year of DirectTV that you're not even watching, or spending a few dollars on a 15-minute phone call to the US?
Buy a pre-paid phone card or something.
Compain to the representative on the phone once you get ahold of them. If they're not help, ask for a supervisor.
