Depends on the rest of your body - if you have 'good cleavage' and legs then an empire line dress can do wonders - it accentuates the chest, takes the eye away from the tummy and hips - and if its short, then you can show off your legs too. Also, they are really 'in' this winter so loads of variety around. You could also buy 'control pants' which aren't huge Bridget Jones style knickers these days... M&S do a range with panels on the tummy, just for holding bits in.

Buy some magic knickers from marks and spencers. The kind that hold in your bum and bottom half of your tummy. Try to avoid tights as well as it will make you feel hot and bulky. If your legs feel bare then spray them with fake tan the day before.
Wear a dress which has a v-neck and wide straps, halter neck or 3/4 length sleeves. No spaghetti straps or strapless. Take both 14 and 16 into the changing room with you. Try to look for a dress which comes in at the waist and flares out over the hips (but not pleated in any way). Try on both dresses and see which one you feel most comfortable in. Different shops sizes are different (M&S are on the large side, Debenhams about average, Zara on the small side). Good luck and always remember that even skinny girls look unattractive if they're not smiling and having fun.

Go for a mid thigh dress size 16, black, not striped but with a vertical (up and down) pattern in the fabric of possible, and look like it's a bit big, rather than a 14 and looking like youre crammed in at bursting point.
Go for something with a focal point up near your neck, but not under your chin, you KNOW where I'm talking about, if they're looking at your bust, they're not looking at your tummy.
Dont go mad trying to over accesorise to take emphasys from your tum, wear plain but not cheap jewelery (make sure it matches)... If you look "together" you'll feel confident, and enjoy the party.
Tummy bulge ? well if youre not expecting to cop off with anyone, get some gutbuster knickers on and dont eat too much or you'll feel uncomfortable.
When's the party ? If you have three days... try some situps, or tummy curls or something, it will tighten it up a little bit if not much, it all helps.
Oh yeah, if it's not a huge bulge, just a small one, I suggest you look at a picture of the pin-up icon Marilyn monroe, and realise, that a little bulge.... (as visible in many pictures of said goddess) is in fact part of the perfect shape, so stop worrying, while a lot of guys dont admit to it (ever), they do in fact like a little bit of something to cuddle.
Have a great time. Hope the knight in shining armour turns up for you.

Don't know if you ever watched How to Look Good Naked, but it always used to have this underwear that basically pulls everything in. You can get one that goes practically from your knees right up to your boobs! I got one that is just a pair of knickers that go up to your boobs and they're genius. They just smooth everything and make sure you don't have overhang! You can get them from places like M&S and most catalogues like Freemans and Empire Stores sell them so you can order them online.
Also, you need to find a shop that sizes suit you. A size 14 can vary hugely from shop to shop so find the one that does the best size for you. I find Next does really quite good fitting clothes for me, and H&M is quite good too and they are both cheap.
With regards to what to wear, that baby-doll size dress is meant to be a good style, though it can also make you look pregnant, so you need to try some stuff on. For something less dressy, wide leg trousers are in at the moment and are really flattering as long as you get them nicely fitted around the bum area. Wear with some high boots and a nice dressy top to smarten them up.
Lastly, pamper yourself loads before the party. Exfoliate, shave, face mask, intensive conditioner. Then you'll feel great and confident and that always makes you look better too.
And HAVE FUN!

you should where what you feel comfortable in.
as for you tummy bulge you could always try wearing a corset. to get a flatter stomach in a short space of time you could do some sit ups every morning and night.
also cut out fizzy drinks and just drink water and fruit juices.
Try holding your stomach in whenever you rememeber to this should also help to strenthen your stomach muscles and give you a better posture.
depending how long you have till this party you could also do a detox where you cut out all dairy products for a week this should also help to flatten you stomach.
But above all just be happy with the body that God gave you. I'm sure you'll look great in whatever you wear.

Get something in a 16. Clothing which is too tight will only make you look bulgy. Try separates. That way you have more chance of getting something which fits properly. Also try to get something which maybe has a double lair, or extra fabric around the bits you wan to disguise.
Above all, make sure that you feel comfortable with what you wear so that you can relax and have a good time. Have Fun!

If you get slimming pants, they will help suck in the gut and you might be able to do the size 14. If not, it will at least hide the tummy bulge quite well. Try to get a seamless one though so everyone wont see the lines...
As far as what to wear, it depends on your shape. Accentuate what good points you have and try to be objective. Do you have a good chest? Or maybe your bum is nice, try to flaunt what you've got, but without being too slutty or too conservative

Wear a size 16 as the fact that it is a wee bit too big will make you look slimmer and also it will allow room for expansion if you over indulge with food etc.!!!
As for the tummy bulge, you can get controlling pants these days. If you are in the UK., Marks & Spencer sell them.

Pick the pants that aren't tight on you. How to check is by putting two fingers in your waist line to see how the fit is. I would wear a pair of pants that are a dark color. Black is a very slimming color. That might help with your tummy bulge. I hope you have fun at your party.

Wear something in separates. Like a nice pair of black dress pants, with a bright top and jacket. The jacket will cover the tummy.
If you wear control top pantyhose it will help pull your tummy in.
And wear the pants long with a heel. It will give you a long lean look.
