It is not a question of being perfect. The parents look for your good when they try and find you a partner. They are better placed to judge because they neither love or have sex with your future partner and there fore are not biased. if it was you who had to choose you would be guided by certain attributes of the partner. In the old days it was the barber who would recommend the two. Now things have changed. Parents are more experienced in every aspect there fore I would think that they would make a good choice

Where are you from? And by saying partner, I take it you mean Marriage. I don't think anyone has the right to choose who someone else should spend the rest of their life with. Just because nobody is perfect doesn't mean you can't find that perfect someone that fits right for you!
I have never understood why parents is some cultures do this..I would bet it's more for the parents benefit than their childs.

100%? Absolutely not. Parents should express their feelings about a prospective partner, but the bottom line is that the child has to live with that other person, not the parents.

No, it's not. My husband is from Pakistan where fathers will literally just waltz into the daughter's room and TELL her "You are marrying the man in this picture in two weeks. Be ready by then". If she protests, she is likely to be killed for honor. Had I known what I know now, I would never have married the man who is my husband on paper but am divorcing. I've been to Pakistan. It's ok for parents to make suggestions, but to all out tell her who to marry and when is outrageous. Not even islamic. COMPLETELY against Islam.

I dun really think that would be nice . No one is perfect . Let your kids make their own choice . If you pick a guy/girl that he/she don't likes . I guess they'll hate you for the rest of thier lives .

I don't think so.b/c I happen to believe in love & also in doing what u want.it's u who are going to marrey the person.not your parents,so I don't think u should ruen your life by letting your parents choose the person who's supposed to be your other half.
