I remember MYST and Return to ZORK were about 1995. And both were first person 3D graphics.

Before that all i remember was either look down screens or word type.

Were those the first?

Around 87 or 88 a game came out that was in the arcades. I can't remember the name for the life of me. It was of an old knight type guy who had to jump around and fight different things. a portion on the screen would blink and you'd have to hit the joystick in that direction.

it was very basic but was 3d and was the first that I had ever seen in the arcades. at that time only home units were like the atari's.

I thought Dragonslair was a cartoon type game. The first of its type but not 3d-like a regular animation game.

I think the first 3d games were when nintendo 64 came out in the mid 90's.

A game called 3D Monster Maze was the first three-dimensional game for the home computer, and it came out in 1981.
