it actually means that we normally blame our circumstances n other people for our downfall or for bad times. but it is we who r responsible for this. n when we realise this ,things drastically change. i've experienced it that when u accept that u r responsible for ur own mistakes god forgives u.

The fox is angry with the trap not with himself for ending up in it. It means he is not taking responsibility for his part in his own fate. He is playing the helpless victim. Placing the locus of control outside himself. We do this a lot ourselves. We like to bemoan our fate & say how cruel life is but in many (most) cases, we played a part in it. We made the decisions that led to the situation we're in. We are authors of our own fates.

It is the trap which caused the difficulty, hence it is condemning the trap. Why should it condemn self?

It basically means that we blame circumstances and sometimes other people for our own poor judgment and failures.

The fox is sly and aware. However, he still took the bait and got caught by the trap. He blames his misfortune on the trap, not his poor judgment.

It's a description of people who always think themselves to be the victims of circumstance. They refuse to take responsibility for their own actions, no matter the consequences. They blame the system or society for their problems.
