My rim on my tC is bent, I cant describe it. It's just...flad on the outside on one part. As if the lip got dented in. Do normal tire shops fix rims? autobody? dealerships? any idea?

It can usually be repaired. It's done with a rim alignment and rolling machine -- to get them straight and true again. I can't post links for websites of businesses that do it because it's against Yahoo's rules and they'll consider it spamming. But if you use advanced search (on google, say,) and type "rim repair" in the 'exact phrase' part, and "automotive" in the 'including all the words' box above it, you'll get a pretty big list of businesses who do this, for both steel and alloy wheels. Then just narrow down your search by putting in the name of your city or state.

Oh, by the way, don't put quotes around the words like I did here. That was just to make them clear. Just type them without quotes, otherwise it'll narrow your search too much.

Then check out prices either online or by phone, and compare that with a replacement wheel. Of course, if you buy a second-hand wheel you can't be sure it's perfect anyway. It could be slightly bent from a crash and you won't always spot it.

Good luck!

hey there i do know some dealerships can straighten up rims as long as there not to bad or you could go to an auto-wreakers and see if they have a rim like yours and then just go to a tire shop and get them to change your tire from your bent rim to the other you don't want to buy a new rim through a dealership if you can't get your rim fixed or find one at the auto wreakers i would go with a set of 4 new mag wheels with tires on it for a whole new look this will probally be cheaper then buying one rim through a dealership

There are companies that repair damaged rims even broken aluminum wheels - check with a large body shop or collision repair facility - most of them have a guy who comes around weekly to collect damaged wheels and brings back what he fixed during the last week.

There are wheel repair shops (if it's not too bad), I would replace it with a new one, wheels spin fast and have to be in balance, your life depends on them. save yourself a lot of trouble, and just replace it. it's just a rim, not a motor, etc..
