i have always listened to what they have to say about africa and it seems to me they only air the poverty in africa and most of americans and europeans dont know there is actually economic developments. we have airports telephones and all the technology you can ever imagine. i think that is ignorance at its best for them to focus on the negative sides of africa rather than both the negatives and the positives.

well you are the ignorant one,,just because you have airports and telephones doesn't necessarily mean the country is developed, the real story of the country doesn't lie in the city's it lies deep deep in the untouched places ,,thats were the journlist wants to draw our attentioned to.

What happened to Rwandans & the Sudanese & now Dafur is genocide. I suspect they are telling these stories in hopes that we will demand that the govt do something about it. What is happening deserves all the press it can get. Anything else in Africa right now pales in comparison.

Many of the nations in Africa are corrupt & allow their people to starve to death because the leaders are enriching themselves at their expense. That's why the negatives are being reported.

seriously!
they dont know anything.
there are improvements, good and bad,
they want sensationalism, they want a story to get emotion but not help.

If they really were concerned with africa, they would get more people aware of the genocide going on. As well as the social imporvements.

but I think the focuse on africa and other issue is to divert us from something, like the war in iraq.

I feel there are manifold reasons:
1. The negative news make europeans and americans feel good about their own well-being and happiness.
2. It stimulates humanitarian feelings and benevolence.
3. It justifies aid going to these countries.
4. It confirms widely held beliefs and thus cater to mass audience.
5. We might believe that that by focusing on negatives, they really want us to get involved in the betterment drives and charities.

Why not?
Living human of all tribes of different community all originated from Africa.
Those living in poverty out there are our brothers and sisters too.
So everyone is trying to reach out and extend them a helping hands.
But were at loss on what went wrong out there.
Instead of giving them our creator's universal gifts of life of Fishing lines, hooks and sinkers vital for their survival and advancement of themselves.
They go and give them cash whenever they pass through Africa.
Cash is only good for short term while the rest of the year they let them go hungry and starving back in square one.
What Africa wants is our creator's universal gifts of life so they can make wonders "Out of Africa"
But the men who would be king want Africa for themselves while their brothers and sisters all go hungry and crying out there in planet of apes.
The misery expose by the mystery of us-911.
