Electricity is supplied to the armature of a generator through brushes and rings. Why continuous wires cannot be used for this purpose??

First of all generator generates electricity. Electricity is tapped from armature of the generator. While in electrical motor , supply is given to the armature. As far as your question is concerned since the armature is rotating while magnetic field is stationary only way to tap the supply is through brushes. Continuous wire will break .

Because of the rotation. The wires would become all tangled and snap eventually.
