In my opinion, Nirvana is the first band that bring their Seattle sound or grunge being wellknown by the world. They are the opener of the gates so the other band in the same genre can be known so very well by people. And also they have a unique sound. Kurt and co is grunge, so if people talk about grunge then Nirvana will always in the top of the list. They sound really unique if we compare with the bands in the same genre. Kurt is a genius one. He really can express what in his head to his hands.

Hail for you to know them.

Because, it's the kind of music that disillusioned youths of many generations can relate to. I love Nirvana and have been a fan since the early days(when Kurt Cobain was still alive). I also think that bands like Alice In Chains and Soundgarden have had an effect on today's generation, too.

The only thing I suppose is that it speaks to the counter-culture. Besides no matter what the music sounds like, if it has well written lyrics someone will love it. Listen to some of those Nirvana songs again....Also I mean think of all the Heavy Metal fans........there are just some people that love this stuff, others possibly you who don't.

Because Nirvana was at the height of their career when he blew his head off or courtney killed him which ever you prefer... other then that it was one of the few grunge bands that had a great musical talent

If you don't understand, then go back to your country music. We can't EXPLAIN the emotion and genius that comes from Kurt Cobain from someone who has already made up his mind about Nirvana.
