1) Find the pack number and bot on the subber's website.
2) Log onto their channel--you might have to register your nick first though.
3) Check to see if the bot is online. If it is, then type /msg botname xdcc send #xxx <--fill in the blanks

If the show you want isn't on a bot, never fear! There's still fserves! If the channel allows it, type @find ____ <--keyword or !list (this give you a list of all the fserves and bots) To access an fserve it will usually require typing something like this: "/ctcp [cchan] download my animes yo" *cough* or something like that...

4) make sure your irc program will accept .avi and not block them. that should be under settings....

You can find out info to groups at animeyume.org as well. Its a bit torrent site, but i use it mostly to find out what groups are subbing what.

Also want to say that that's good info, c chan. The baka updates site is awesome.
