Remove positive battery terminal.Its a good idea to have a auto repair book for your year and model.Front wheel drive.Remove 1axle on trans side,remove transmission,Remove clutch pressure play,disc,pilot bearing,flywheel.Take flywheel to machine shop and have it surfaced.If you have car made in Japan you need to make sure when they surface the flywheel they get the step down correctly.Toyota trucks the step is .020 on a Nissan the step is .010,all other models are all different.The machine shop should have a book which tells them the step.All US cars and trucks are all flat,with no step.VW is the hardest of all to surface.Always replace the pilot bearing or bushing which ever it has.You can get a complete kit that has all you need in it.I suggest a LUK kit,they are very very good clutches,some are the same as factory.The kit also comes with a pilot shaft to line up your clutch which will make it easy to stab the trany.Check for leaks in the clutch master and slave cylinders.Anymore questions email me.I own a Clutch shop.

It would help to know what kind of car this is, especially front or rear wheel drive!

Also, when you change a clutch, you don't just change the clutch plate with the lining on it. You also put in a new pressure plate and throw out bearing.
