I'm in a new long distance relationship... and i miss him terribly. He lived in a different country, so its not easy to just pick up the phone and call...there's time difference and cost to call to think about and among other things.

So my question is, particularly to those who have had experience in long distance relationships or are in one, What are the things you do to keep from driving yourself completely crazy from missing someone you love? any tips? suggestions?

Thanks.

I myself am in a long distance relationship. I live in Canada and hes in Georgia USA. I have free long distance calling in North America, so I have no problem calling him every day, but you can try using www.skype.com to talk for free online. We see eachother on the webcam as much as possible as well when we're not together in person.

I can understand your predicament very well. In my case, we used the voice chat programs (AIM and yahoo messengers) and it is very cheap to call from pc to pc or from home phone to home phone. We always tried to be online at a particular time every day (despite 7 hours of difference between our countries) to chat and to type. Moreover, every day we tried to find time to send mails, cards and short messages to let the other know that we think of each other and we care about each other. There are sometimes cheap flights (since we lived across the continent, we tried to visit each other once every three or four months) and we were in close touch with such promotions. We survived in that way for four years.

I know it is very hard and it takes a lot of effort to keep it going but sometimes distance makes love grow fonder (in my case it did) I wish you luck and happiest times.
May you be together soonest.

Hi.
Was in one of those once..Never again because of the loneliness you might feel. When you need to be held, or someone to listen to you when you have a hard day, you might can talk on the phone, but nothing takes the place of something they can see and touch. Good Luck

If you are both on the internet, you can use online programs to talk for free, rather than having to pay for expensive international phone calls.
