I would confront him.
I had, and I mean HAD a husband that kept all our papers at his office so that I didn't know what he was doing. And believe me it isn't good for a marriage to have secrets with money.
Tell him you need to be part of the decision making when it comes to money

call him on it. ask him whats going on, it sounds to me like he may be cheating on you.
I have no idea how much my husband makes every week at work, or how much is in our account, and I don't even try to look at the bank statements even though they do come to our house, but I know why I don't know. I have a spending problem, so in our case it's a good thing. But I do know he pays all of our bills on time and gives me money. Plus I trust him.

honestly, i wont tell you to confrnt him or ask anything about the money issues... ever since i was little my mom always thought us to keep or save some money for ourselves and dont tell it to our husband or wife because even though we are married and considered as one their are still some things in life that we are not in control of, the money that we save for ourselves is our back-up money.. example like what happen to you "if ever" your husband really has several secrets from you not just the money issue, how will you handle the situation, your not in control of the game because you dont have the power to do so, you see money is power specially when your are married and you already had a family....

Sounds to me like he is either stashing money in preparation
for a divorce or he is paying for a mistress...Or both...

COMMUNICATION..........Determine what's really going on, so that a solution can be worked out. If he's uncooperative, then you really have a problem. But it still needs to be resolved.
