about.com is the handiest site I know
http://familycrafts.about.com/
In the links in red at the left under 'Topics' (scroll down), you'll see the link for the printables and also crafts by age appropriate. Under 'Essentials' there are links to craft instructions. Other about.com links off the main index offer Hobbies and Crafts and Home and Garden with even more links. This site is very comprehensive.

Collages! I love to make collages. You can make them based on certain themes... For example I have a bunch of Victorian Trading Company magazines and I love to make collages out of those because the pictures inside are great! You can get those recycled paper boxes that are really cheap at Wal-Mart or whatever and glue a collage onto it and use that decopage glue over it and it'll dry clear and look awesome. You can just use the old newspapers to clean windows/mirrors or something... You can also use strips of magazine to make beads. You cut the strip into a very long triangle (so it has a point at one end), start at the flat side, using glue you wind it up with a stick until you make a bead. Then coat it in clear nailpolish. =]

My favorite for young children is http://www.dltk-kids.com/

They have lots of ideas, for everyday and just about every holiday. I've used their stuff many times as the "party room mother" for my daughter's classes over the past few years, from preschool up to 2nd grade and the kids have always enjoyed them.
