My three friends and I have been trying to get a record deal ever since we were 15 and 16 (we're in our early 20s now).....we started out with four of us, but one girl got in sime trouble and is now in jail (true story).......so then it was just three of us for four years...performing at talent shows and whatnot... until last year when my friend died in a car accident....so then it was two (me and the other girl) and we brought in a new girl to make it a trio again and continue with trying to get signed.....
The thing is, this new girl who replaced our friend who died seems to be concentrating on getting her own deal...she'll write songs by herself and contact agents and production companies by herself...sometimes she'll book shows and perform by herself at bars and carnivals and be like, "Oh I was just practicing by myself."
Me and my other friend have been talking, but we're not sure what to do...she and I wanted to get a signed as a group with the other two girls...but one's in jail and the other's in Heaven....everything's so different now...and this new girl doesn't seem to want to even be in a trio...what should we do??

ISN'T IT OBVIOUS? SHE IS USING YOU AS A PLATFORM TO FAME. ONCE SHE GETS SIGNED OR WHATEVER, SHE IS GOING TO TELL YOU "ADIOS AMIGOS."

I think that you guys should let girl #3 go. You guys brought her in the group to be just that...part of a group. She is only looking out for herself. And there is nothing wrong with that...unless you are in a group. I don't think it will be hard to find a third person that wants the same things that you and #2 want. Don't waste your time on people who are pulling in a different direction. If you keep her in and she gets signed then you will be back at square 1. Stay focused on whats best for the group and any one who is not on that band wagon needs to get off. Good luck.

You've already put too much into your dream to give up. It sounds like the new girl isn't working out, but don't worry if other band members come and go. Often just one or two people are the real creative center and focus of attention in a band, and the rest are back up players. All you really need is some decent back up players.
Good luck!

Maybe she's looking at how long it's taking u guys to get your feet off the grown!! so she's going a head with out u! so tell her look we are all in this together, and u really should let us know what are when you're about to make a move without us, see if that helps. if not then let her do her own thing and u guys find someone else!!

Obviously she doesnt to be a Trio. Get her out and let her do her own thing and you two get someone who will work together as a group. Together you can work to get to where you want to be.

If you want to do it as a group, drop the solo girl and find someone who is the kind of team player you are. Wish the other girl the best. Part on good terms. It is never good to burn bridges.

Not looking like a "team" effort in my opinion if its a trio your looking for. However maybe if u are all good you can all maybe look into something separate as well? Just a thought

did you guys make it clear from the START that you are a group and work together.
have you really talked to her? what is she doing? you have way to many questions you should ask her and not us.
If she doesnt want to be in a trio...let her go.
Be brutally honest, thats the only way to go.

Does bein a trio really matters? Why not go ahead without the third party?I don't think she's sincere in joining both of you.

i've never been in the music business, but it sounds like you don't really trust this girl and trust is very important. maybe you should look for someone else. best of luck on a recording deal of your own!

Tell her you think she should go out on her own since she seems to want to. Look for another girl or two for your group. I think all of you will be happier.
