the most realistic**** choice is the 360. 360 is your best bet for xmas becuase u probably wont get one of the 400,000 PS3s in america unless your already in line... maybe for your nbirthday next year get PS3, but rightnow, go with 360
***not the best, just the most realistic to get by xmas

The Xbox 360 is the better choice. I'll give you some pros and cons for each system.
PS3:
Pro:
1. High Processing Power(better graphics)
2. Free online play
3. May have a few good games that are exclusive to the PS3
4. Can play some PS1 games and PS2 games
Con:
1. Doesn't come with HD cables
2. $500-$600
3. Because it has free online play, many 3rd party publishers will not support multiplayer in there games.(3rd party is multiplatform games)
4. Blu-Ray technology takes up 2-4 times more room on a hard drive than others.
5. It will need 6 months to a year to work out all its bugs
6. Has lost many 1st and 3rd party publishers and developers.
7. If there are problems with your console, it is on you.
8. Can only play certain PS1 and PS2 games.
Xbox 360:
Pro:
1. Great Graphics
2. Xbox Live is better than ever
3. Super comfortable controller
4. Has gained many 1st and 3rd party publisher and developers.
5. Great games
6. Bugs have already been worked out
7. Peter Jackson(director of Lord of the Rings and King Kong) will be working exclusively with Microsoft.
8. Metal Gear Solid 4 has just been announced for the Xbox 360.
9. Microsoft may be trying to by Capcom(Resident Evil, Dead Rising)
10. Great accessories
11. Can play Xbox games
12. Exclusive content for GTA IV.
Con:
1. $50 dollars for Live, but is totally worth it.
2. Can't play all Xbox games, but most of the good ones are playable.
3. HD-DVD player is extra, but is one of the best looking
HD-DVD players out there.
I Strongly suggest the Xbox 360, it is the superior system.

If your parents can get you a PS3 in december, and are willing to spend a few hundred more than cost for the 360, a PS3 would be a nice choice for christmas. But in my opinion, 360 isn't anywhere behind the PS3 that you will really notice in performance to the eye, so I say go the easy and cheaper route and get the 360. You won't be disappointed. Also, when Halo 3 comes out, you will almost certainly be wishing you have the 360, so you may want to think about that as well.

PS3 but the price is too high and if you do get one for christmas you probably won't get anything else,in a magazine a while ago they said there was 10 reasons why PS3 is better then Xbox 360(i can't remember them but the PS3 is gonna kick Xbox 360's butt). If anyone says the Xbox 360 is better then they are jealous of PS fans because they can't afford a PS3

The ps3 is not even out yet so no-one can say unless you are in Japan and have one, but this week we will all find out just how good the ps3 is vs the 360. Both are good system i just think that the ps3 will have more bells and whistles on it then the other systems. The ps3 is sure to have its fair share of bugs just like the 360 did when it first came out. So wait at least 6 months to a year before buying. If you wait you will have good feedback on the PS3 and the games for the system will be expanded for sure.

Well if you've waited this long I'd say go with the 360 because unless you plan on waiting outside the store for many, many hours you aren't getting a ps3 for cheaper than about $2-2.5k. Also the 360 has a bigger game base than ps3, the ps2 has a bigger base than the both xbox's put together.
I'd suggest looking at the games that are out for each system and deciding which games you like better and go with that.

360. The ps3 is too expensive right now for what you are getting. Plus The grapics arent much better than the xbox. Wait til ps3 comes down in price before getting one.

one, be happy with what ever they buy you.
Second, I'd vote 360, as the console has been tested, and the makers know what it can do, also more titles, Price is lower as well
the PS3 is, has only 13 Launch titles, and of them, only 5 are exclusive. reports also say that as much as 10% of the PS2 & PS1 will not play on PS3. also if you end up with games that require Hard drive memory, you will need the 60G, version which is an extra $100

I've played the Xbox 360, and it's got EXCELENT graphics!! Plus I really love it's look, the remote and the cordless controllers. I've played Ghost Recon (?) or whatever it's called, and it's graphics and the sounds are pretty realistic.
(you can store music on it too! oh, then again, can you do that with the ps3?)
