I'd wear it. A ring does not make or break a marriage, it's the people that do so. Forget superstition, that's what kills more people.
Also, a pawnshop should have an order book where you can look at different settings. The future bride can look at the book, and choose the type of setting she wants. Then, look around and check out other jewelry, like a necklace and remove the stone from there, then place it on the setting that you chose. Voila! You now have a one-of-a-kind ring, for a cheaper price, and a bigger rock than what you can buy at the mall.
You can spend the rest of the money you saved on your honeymoon!
Good luck and best wishes!

I don't think I could wear. I wouldn't stop thinking about why or how it ended up there - if someone really needed the money or if the marriage ended in divorce. There would be too many unknowns. My boyfriends always threatens to buy my engagement ring from a pawn shop because he knows that I would NEVER wear it. Please don't buy your gf a ring from a pawn.

If i loved the guy enough to say yes i wouldn't care where he got the ring..cause maybe he was trying to get me a bigger rock than what he could have gotten for the same price retail....but yea' in the back of my mind it would be, well...kind of creepy that my engagement ring was from some poor girl that ended up pawning it...i guess i would just have to deal w' it until i could figure out how to tell him i wanted to take it in to change the setting or something

Yes my husband bought me a wedding and engagement set that I found from a pawn shop that was going out of business and I love it. We got it for half the price. Some of the jewerly was going to other pawn shops and what they couldn't send to other pawn shops. (stuff that was just left and not going to be picked up by customers) was sold at half price. You can get some great deals on jewelry at pawn shops. I have had people recommend pawn shops to get great deals on quality jewerly.

No way in heck would I wear a pawn shop engagement ring. It would just seem like bad luck. I'm not superstitious (often), but who wants to take a chance? Marriage is hard enough without adding the possibility of bad luck to it. Any other piece of jewelry..yeah, but not an engagement ring.

my husband got my ring at a pawn shop. we got married when we were both 18. its a beautiful ring. we started dating on the 21st of april, the total amount of diamonds the ring has, and got married on the 9th of december, a section of the ring has 9 stones seperated from the rest. he planned our wedding date to fit the ring. it doesnt matter where the ring came from, it came from his heart, that is all that matter's.
