The greatest officially recorded number of childern born to one mother is 69, by the first of two wives of Feodor Vassilyev, a peasant from Shuya 150 miles east of Moscow

Rense is right, but it's not as bad as it sounds--most of the births were multiple births--she had several sets of twins, triplets, and I believe she even had a few sets of quadruplets. (Gee, and I thought my great-great-grandfather was something else because he had 17 by 2 wives!)
