Don't buy an A64 3500. It's no longer worth it. Buy a 3800: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103531 And if you're wanting to play F.E.A.R., I'd go with at least an X1600XT: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?Category=38&N=2010380048+1069609641+106790809+1067918888&Submit=ENE&SubCategory=48 or 7600GS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?Category=38&N=2010380048+1069609641+1305520548+106790717+1067920619&Submit=ENE&SubCategory=48

Of course, spending twice that much, or more, on your video card would not be a bad idea, either. Your video card makes about 3 times as much difference in gaming, than your cpu.

And no, that "bundle" you linked to is not even close to being able to play F.E.A.R. That's a 1.3 Ghz Duron, soldered to an extremely cheap AGP motherboard. It's fast enough for word processing, but that's about it.

NewEgg for sure, and the AMD Athlon 3500+ is much better than the Pentium-D 2.8 for gaming..

Where you'll want to splurge is on your graphics card. At least a 7900GT, unless you've already got that taken care of.

Yeah I use http://www.newegg.com myself, and I check on some prices on http://www.pricewatch.com

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
I see your link price of $85.99 for a combo deal.

The processor Geode™ NX 1750@14W processor.*** shows on AMD site to be a speed of *** This processor operates at 1.4GHz.

1.4 GHz, that does not look like a good deal to me.

That combo you have listed the processor is way behind the processor you stated you would like to have, AMD Ahtlon 64 3500+.

Here is a combo that is much more up to date, with a processorthat is good. For $119.99, not sure of your price range, but for just a few bucks more you wlil be way more up to date. I have the same processor actually on this computer and I do heavy gaming. If the link does not work do a search on newegg, look at bottom for combo deal. Now they are OEM, not retiail so the warranty is like 90 days I think. But it is a great deal, and way better processor and motherboard than that combo you have listed. Hope this helps.

The place I where I shop for computer parts is www.pricegrabber.com. They don't actually sell the parts but they show you where you can get them for the best price and they don't list two bit sites either. They search places like Mwave, TigerDirect, NewEgg, and many more.

Newegg is always a fine choice. If you post your purchase to Modoshi, you can also get cashback + a finder's fee.

http://www.modoshi.com

Check it out.
