Maybe I'm watching too many Hollywood movies. I want start a secret life that keep separate from my current one.

Not the kind where I have two wives. The kind where I know how to use guns or am a master card gambler or super gaming nerd or something.

Rather than weird, I would say an interesting idea. Why dont you try it?

I noticed another responder told you to "keep your crazy stupid ideas to yourself."

In America you have the right to express your ideas about anything you want to. Don't be discouraged by un-American control freaks who try to limit your freedom of speech.

That having been said, no, there's nothing weird about wanting some sort of alternative life. It could mean that you're not entirely satisfied with the one you have, but then who is?

I myself would like to have a completely different life altogether, but I'm stuck with this one.

As far as keeping the other life secret is concerned, well, why not? It just means that secrecy is one of the things you'd like to have in that life, along with card playing skills, gaming expertise, whatever.

If you do go about setting up another life, do yourself a favor and make sure it doesn't do anything to hurt the current one - i.e. spending all your money gambling, hurting someone with guns, spending all your time gaming instead of with loved ones, etc. If you damage your current one, that damage will spill over into the other life and wreck that one, too.

Just some ideas I had. I could be wrong about everything, so take it with a healthy grain of salt.

But good luck with whatever you decide to do!

It's not weird to want it.

In fact, it's common place.

There's an old well known story by James Thurber named "the Secret Life of Walter Mitty" which shows how imagining alternate lives is a form of compensatory fantasy.

Now, if you acted on wanting a secret life, that could become weird.

Nothing odd about that at all...in fact I know several people that DO lead double lives...there is the quiet, conservative responsible part of them that most people see...then there is the side of them that enjoys hookers, cheap booze and isn't above challenging everyone in the bar to a fight...and winning....interesting girls actually...
