Don't worry, he will get back at you a thousand times, if you are still around.
You are a fool, and you are incorrect.
For anybody else out there who may contemplate destroying their child's faith, when they ask about such things all you have to do is ask the "Well, what do you think about that?"
Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy and whatever else there might be were not part of my childhood. My older sisters made very sure that I was brutally aware of the real world and pain at a very early age. The question of God... It takes a real fool to miss the handiwork of the Creator, don't confuse it with dogma.

what is wrong with you? by telling him there is no santa clause you have begun a series taking away his imagination. then when he becomes an adult he will have no sense of humor. no imagination .what you did was mean. you should have let him find out on his own. that is what I did with my son and he was 11 at the time. he is now 18 and thanked me for not spoiling his younger years. I have no respect for parents who do this to there children. having a base for reality is one thing. but cruelty to children is another.

You really shouldn't have told him that. You shouldn't tell a kid that there is no Santa Clause until he actually catches you putting the presents under the tree yourself and starts asking you about it. You let them figure it out on their own. Plus it's fun to put quarters under their pillow when they lose teeth. Why would you want to miss out on that? And telling him that there is no God, those may be your personal beliefs but why don't you try giving him a chance at actually having a belief before you impress yours on him. He is just too young for all of what you told him. Just something to think about.

Get off the PC and hold him. Tell him that is what you believe and that just because you believe it does not mean he cant. If you don't believe in God OK.. loads of people don't But he is a baby. You gave him the ideas right? When he was 1, 2 and was told about them. You started him on the road of life and pulled out what you have taught him from under him. He will think you are lying about everything now. You need to hold him and tell him that it what you believe and he can believe what ever he likes. When he is older he can make up his own mind about what he wants

He's far too young for that. Why did you do that so early? As far as he's concerned, he's been lied to all of his life by the person he trusted most in the world. And he's too young to understand why.
Honestly, I don't know what you should do. But I know you told him too young.
I honestly had to come back and post again.
Why would you do that? Seriously.. why? He's so young, he has years to be able to pretend yet. There was no reason to hurt him like this. Why would you shatter his childhood? This is the time to allow him to believe in magic. He has so many years ahead of him to come down to earth.
He's a baby yet. He has the right to be crying when his parent treats him so badly. Why wouldn't you let him enjoy his childhood?
This was truly terrible of you to do. Just absolutely terrible.

My heavens! You need to watch the Passion. How can you miss the amazing things that happen Every day. As for Santa or the Tooth Fairy, wow that's part of what makes childhood fun. You seriously need to back peddle fast! Faith? let him make his own decisions and you may find some in the process.
God bless

Big Time Mistake. Five is just a baby and why did you shatter his childhood? Tell him that you made a mistake or you were just joking and undo your wrongs. When he gets MUCH older he can find out, As for god, shame on you why inflict your ideas with a baby? In five years or so if you still deny God's existence tell him that you believe this way and let him decide. You need a course on being a good parent

It's best we shouldnt lie to children, it starts a prescedent, it's like we condone it if we keep it up.
I told my daughter the same but i told her that there was a man named Saint Nicholas who helped people and gave them things and this is where Santa story came from.

That's mean...Santa won't be leaving you anything, and I wouldn't go into any dark alleys for awhile...That Tooth Fairy is one downright mean little sprite, if you tick her off. (You do know she's gone Goth, don't ya?)
I think that covers everything...
