no, no news organization can be objective. this is simple, its a business. and every business is in business to sell their product or service. If a true news company was to spend day after day covering every minute detail of what goes on nobody would watch since their next reality show starts in five minutes. So these businesses show snippets of news. and these snippits are to appeal to the shock factor to keep the attention and sell more product.

They should never tell anything as news that isn't true facts. If they want to add anything to it that should be in a different segment but the news shouldn't have anyones views behind what they write. None. They can be objective as long as what they report is what they deem to be the whole truth. We are smart enough to form our own opinions and don't need them to do it. They have the power to sway a nation and do so all the time. It's wrong.

Freedom of the press is only as free as the people who own the presses, radio, television et.al. You are only informed about the events they want you to know about. The issues highlighted by mainstream media are not worth reading about, listening to or viewing. All the interesting and important events that take place are simply not reported anywhere by our media. They just label them as conspiracy theories and let them drift away. The saying " out of sight, out of mind " can not be more relevent.

As they all have been bought by international corporate conglomerates, the chances now are zilch. We have to go to Al Jazeera for our news. The BBC used to be good until Tony Blair shut them down by Nationalizing it over their criticism of his Iraq positions. Times are dark for anyone wishing to be in the journalism business. Today all we get on the news is the big lie.
