A faint line is still a positive! So it sounds like she's pregnant.
The female body always produces very tiny amounts of HCG, the pregnancy hormone. But it's not enough to trigger a false positive on a pregnancy test.
There have been cases of "false pregnancies", when women believed so strongly that they were pregnant that their stomachs grew and they lactated. However, most of these don't cause positive test results because that's all they are ... a bigger belly and some milk (and the hormone that produces milk is totally different).
I'd say she's pregnant.

Yes it is possible for the body to produce the hormone that makes it think that it is pregnant and it really not be pregnant. The body may even start having symptoms of pregnancy and even show up in the blood test as being pregnant. Though it's all unlikely to happen it can. I know someone that went about 3-4 months thinking she was pregnant, even went to the doctor and everything... They finally found out after a sonogram had been done and they gave her some birth control to help regulate the body's hormones it was producing. But I wouldn't try to blow off a positive as a false one... you should definitely see the doctor!

Sometimes when a woman thinks or believes that she is pregnant she will have pregancy like symptoms. Not sure if they can produce pregnancy horomes, even though they have the symptoms.
If the lines are coming out sort of positive with in the time that the test says ( usually 5 minutes to wait) then she probably is pregnant. Just don't bother to read the test after a certain amount of time has past because it can give false results (usually 30 minutes after the test was intitially taken)

First of all when you are pregnant your body produces that hormone. Without it you can't be pregnant. You arent pregnant because if you were than your body would have the HCG hormone. And with all of those tests that happened and all said the same thing: You WERENT pregnant. Something else is going on and it should be checked out.

Not really. False positive are very rare. If she has had a baby or miscarried lately, however, it can take awhile for all of the hormone to leave the system. There is such a thing called a "chemical pregnancy" however. They will give positive results. Basically it's a very early miscarriage. I would advise you to check out:

nope, I don't believe so... like the others have said women can have a "false pregnancy" but that is an emotional/mental thing.
Women can produce milk/lactate before there periods even.
But if you mean can you have HCG the hormone they look for with a pregnancy test and not be pregnant. My Dr. said "No"
I trust my Dr. so that was good enough for me. But try calling the nurses station of the hospital, or ask your Dr, planned parenthood.

No, HCG is only produced when an embryo is implanting. A faint line is a positive result.

Yes your body can have a false pregnancy. It can even cause you to lactate (produce milk).
