I have a mate going to Japan and i want to know how much money to give him before his trip ... please help!

The basic model costs 59,000 yen which is about $600. The big one costs 64,000 yen.

Second hand? Its only been out a week and ALL of them were sold out in an hour.

I dont think there is a release date for the next batch. There are a few on the auction in Japan but add a few hundred more dollars to get one!
