how do you stop them, how do you convince them to stop. And worse, if you know they will go on to hurt abuse kill others, are you responsible for not stopping them?
And last so we have no confusion here, this person, is someone you love.
This is totally hypothetical, it is a philosophical question I would like to see better worded.
But better, I would love to hear your answers.

I try to reach their humanity or the oppositte side of their brain...here is what I mean....they are probably angry and enraged and aggitated to reach this current state... I tell them I understand their being upset however, what they are about to do will only make it worse and will magnify the problem ruining 2 lives in just a moment. I try to connect with their reasoning, that all though it seems like lashing out feels good ...nothing good will ever become of it.....and this act...They will spend the rest of their life regretting....You have a choice...Make the right choice now....

for my area, this occurs all too plenty. What needs to take place is the fact of others' perspectives. If somebody's going to do something, you are able to no longer somewhat supply up them except they arrive to a determination to accomplish that on their very own. otherwise, they're going to nonetheless be making plans it. I propose, you are able to intimidate them or tie them down or in spite of...they'd do it later...that only buys you time. If on the different hand, you quite cause them to think of, they'd re-examine. they'd no longer. i do no longer think of there's a thank you to certainly administration everyone. And it is stressful often times once you be attentive to somebody's going to do something you disagree with. I propose, you are able to constantly warn the guy who they desire to do injury to, help them. If it somewhat is a individual you like, as you pointed out, then fairly frequently they love you lower back or appreciate you or something to that nature, and if it somewhat is so, then they'd appreciate what you had to declare. ("You" is ambiguous to that end.) it is like worldwide peace...it is going to become in line with who harbors extra nukes...peace in line with worry. Which, as i'm constructive a lot of human beings can agree, isn't in all probability peace. i think of my answer works for whoever it may be, so long because it is on a style of individual point. as far as international ethics issues, i haven't figured that one out yet. If I knew that, i'd in all probability have a Nobel Peace Prize. -Lena

I put on my banshee hat and beat the crap out of them. Even if he/she overpowers me and returns the favor, the person who was in danger is given the diversion needed so that they can run to safety.

Yes you are responsible for stopping them and reporting them to the police. Otherwise if you stand by and watch you are now an accomplice to the crime.

If you feel someone is a danger or that someone else is in imminent danger. You could stay quiet on it, that's your right. But "If" something were to happen, how would you feel about it? You should report it to the authorities, asap.

1) I think you have a moral obligation to stop this person if you can.
2) If you have reason to think they will hurt others, you have a moral obligation to alert the proper authorities.
