I worked at a store where we measured and fitt girls. It shouldn't ride up in the back, but also shouldn't dig into to you where you have skin hanging over. Your breast shouldn't plunge out at the top of the cup either, and should git smoothly inside of it. The material in the middle, between your breast should lie flat against your body. You should never need to adjust your bra during the day by pulling it down or fixing anything. Hope this helps.

If your bra is too small then your boobs would poof out on the top of the bra. Or if there is an air gap in the cups of the bra where your arms touch the bra then the cup size is too big. If the connecting straps ride far up your back that is also another sign it is to big. I would recommend being fitted in a department store. Just look for someone who looks experienced not the high school student with a part time job. Oprah's website should reference these things as she did a whole show about how women wear the wrong size bra. Hope this helps.

if you're wearing a padded bra there's always the chance that it'll scrunch up in the bottom. personally i used to wear a bra that did that all the time. and yeah, with padded bras if they're not TOO big but still big, your nipple will touch the bra but maybe the top part of your breast will not touch the padding. i haven't found a great way to get around this if you want to look bigger. if your bra is scrunching, just make sure it's not really obvious scrunching i.e. others can tell just by looking at you.

Some of the things to check for are whether or not it acts like a push up bra for your armpit fat (this is bad!) if the strap rests comfortably but snugly and flatly on your rib cage, if it has the right amount of space between the cups so they fit properly without much adjusting, if your boobs fill the cups up or overflow, and whether or not everything gets dislodged when you lift your arms. All these things vary so much between bras, it's a matter of getting the right style and cut for you and not just technically the right size. Most of all you have to decide not just if your boobs look good in it, but if you feel good about your body in general when you're wearing it.

If your bra moves when you lift your arms to reach then more than likely it is too small. If your straps are always moving out of place then it could be too big or too small. The best thing to do when you are unsure is to go have a bra fitting a lot of department stores do them free, such as Dillard's and Parisians. Victoria Secret also does them free of charge. It has been said that most women are wearing the wrong size bra I know it was true for me. Good luck.

Its not the right size...
-if its not comfortable or just doesn't feel right
-if you don't feel enough support
-if there is a gap between the bra and the mid-section of your chest when you wear it
-if your breast pop out when you bend over
-if it doesn't cover the nipple area when worn
-If there is space between the breast and the bra cup(this usually happens with padded bras that are too big)
hope that helps:)!

As far as cup size, to find out if it's right, lean over and hold the bra under your breasts, then put your breasts inside of the cups( still bent over at the waist). If it's the right size, your breasts should just fit inside of the cups. As far as the rest of it goes, if it's hurting you or making you feel uncomfortable when you wear it(itchy , raw, or leaving deep red grooves on your skin) then you should probably go a size or two bigger around.

If the cups are scrunching on the bottom, the cup is too big. If the band is too tight or the cup is too small, it will be really noticeable because you'll feel very constricted. If the size is just right, you'll feel great in it all day!

The best way to know what size bra you really are...go to a lingerie store and ask to get measured....they usually do it for free....I like to go to Victoria's Secret and they usually will ask if you need a measurement...so hope it helps!!

i myself , have had to go to the stores and try on so many . i have never really found one bra that seems to match the size that the bra says on the tag. it does seem strange right ? many company's make them differently , i would just go to the store and try on many , until you find what is comfortable for you..
