It depends on your states laws. They could suspend you from getting a drivers license. I know someone who did that and couldn't get a drivers license until 6 months after she normally could get it.

You get ticketed for driving without a license. Depending on the state where you live, you could lose your permit.

as soon as you are 17 and a half you dont need a permit and can go straight to a license but you may get a ticket or not be able to get your license for a year or so

check your DMV's website,or call the courthouse and ask what the "sentence" is. i'm pretty sure in NJ that your non-provisional license is withheld for a period of time and there might be a fine.
