hello
let me try to answer this...i am part of banking and most of the rules are common.
Infant account is only possible after he completes a year in my country rules might be diff in your country for the age limit.
you have to feel in the form just as any account and you shall be gaurdian for the account till the minors account becomes major account. you will require resd proof for the account and photograph of the baby.

savings bonds! you can purchase them online. for as low as $25 maybe lower. learn about them and you'll see it's much better for a return than a low interest savings account.
get them at your bank or on a federal website. (google it)
i just encountered this very thing 3 days ago for my newborn.

at my bank, all i needed was an account at the bank, and my childs social security number. most might ask for a birth certificate. call you bank ahead of time and ask them, i am sure it wont be anything that you dont already have.

Well working at a Bank, you would need your son's SS# and birth certificate, your SS# and some ID for yourself. I think it is a good idea what your doing.

I just did this - you'll need his ss# if you have it, you'll need his birth certificate, but you'll have to be on the account too.
