Wow, wouldnt that be considered negligent to not take your own child to the hospital when you have reason to believe that he swallowed a corrosive item? Batteries have Alkaline in them, which can eat through skin.. Now, imagine... Skin is thicker then the lining of your stomach.. Even if the battery doesnt start to decompose in his stomach.. Would you really want to pass a AAA battery? it could definitely get lodged in his intestine, and cause an impaction, which can lead to his intestines twisting or collapse his intestines.. That will result in a major surgery if it doesnt kill him..

Ok, to say you don't want any ER or x-ray answers is ludicrous. This baby's life is in danger. As someone mentioned earlier, there are chemical in the batteries that could hurt/kill your baby. Even if that's not the case, they could get lodged in the intestines and cause an obstruction. That is also a medical emergency.

You need to take your baby to the ER.

There is acid in the batteries. My husband works with battery acid all day and it eats a hole in his jeans it is pretty powerful stuff. I don't know if they will pass whole or what.

Is this a serious question? Had this really happened you should not be on yahoo asking people... you need to be in the Emergency Room or you are putting your child's life in serious danger by avoiding it for what ever "excuses" you have for not taking him in.

you should call your doctor, that is not something you want to start to break down in your babies belly. most times you can wait for them to pass, but they may want to get the batteries out ASAP! good luck and dont worry, kids will be kids.

if those batteries break open your son could die the acid would eat a hole in his stomach.when you have children you assume certain responsibilities don't try saving money by not taking him to the doctor.

The acid in the batteries could make him ill or even kill him. while it is rare for batteries of that size to kill him I would take him in As soon as possible.

the ONLY way to make sure hes safe is to take him to the emergency room! this is an emergency. It can hurt him really bad, or even kill him. You need to get to the hospital immediatly
