A Light To My Path - Lynn Austin

This story is about a girl about your age in the time of the civil war. There are two other books that go with it and I guarantee that if you read this book, you'll read the other two. Great books for any age.

How do you know you wouldn't want to read harry potter?
I bet you'd like it, but of course you'd have to hide it from your friends wouldn't you. James Patterson is a good choice. You would probably like some of Elmore Leonards books too.

I like Eragon. It is a bit fantastical, but it's of the Harry Potter ilk. It's long but very interesting and it is written at an intelligent level so it may help your vocab. (I swear it's more intelligent than harry potter... cause i lost interest in harry potter for real.)

I like the book "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" by Mitch Albom. It is a great book with a great message. And, it's not a preachy religious book. I think you would like it. It is also a fast read.
