I am not sure on this one, but the best approach may be to ask the manager if the complex has insurance as a business that will cover the damage to the property as an act of God.
The property is owned by them, not you, so the damage to the apartment will definitely be covered. As far as your personal property like the tables, etc., you might be on your own. Mostly, people are expected to carry renter's insurance for their personal belongings. Good luck to you.

No. Damage done by animals is not something that the landlord is responible for. The manager of the apartment complex is not responsible for the proximity or actions of the deer. The only way they would be financially responsible would be if they required you to install special fencing to keep the deer away. The police should be responsible for the blood damage and anything stemming from that directly but you'll have to file a claim.

there was a news story today about a deer breaking thru a glass door of a bank. This is a common thing right now. Good thing hunters are out trying to stablize the population. You should get renters insurance. It doesn't cost much and it will protect you if anything happens to your property. The apartment complex/owner is only responsible for his property not yours.

the landlord will be responsible for the property and you will be responsible for your own things. You should have gotten renters insurance...it's very cheap. As for the deer blood? The police are NOT responsible for that. It's the same thing as if a fire dept was called to a house for a fire and they broke a window or a piece of furniture, they're not responsible for those items. That again is why we have insurance.

Your landlords cannot be held responsible for this damage unless you can prove that the deer was able to enter your apartment due to obvious negligence on their part. Unlikely this was the case... They will, however, be responsible for repairing anything that was in the apartment prior to your moving there. (Windows, mirrors, etc, and they will probably pay for cleaning the blood off their own things)

you have not any evidence the hearth replaced into the owner's fault and would have & could were prevented through the owner. the hearth all started in yet another tenant's kitchen. possibilities of LL being to blame are very narrow. Your insurance agency pays for what's lined through your insurance. If the insurance agency famous that someone replaced into to blame for the wear and is likewise sue-able, the insurance agency has to address it. Butt out. take care of your insurance agency.

I think that it is not the landlords fault here. I do believe that everything bad that happens does not require that someone get sued over it. I hope that you can get things replaced but can really not find any fault due to the landlord over this.

wow, you're obviously american... thinking of suing before anything else. Why don't you confront your landlord first, and ask them what they can do to help, then if things don't settle... maybe follow that americanized instinct to sue.

p.s. i'm a neighbour from up north (canada)
