Mine came back only six weeks after my lap. I have an agressive case of endo. My doc told me the only way to eliminate the pain is to have a hysterectomy. But I have heard of some women who still have pain after having everything removed.

I'm not sure how long it takes for it to grow back. I was diagnosed with it 6 years ago, right after I turned 16. I still experience severe pain, and they can't tell me anything without surgery again, but I swear it is back, and that took almost five years. I would just stay away from ANY Depo shot on the market. Speaking from experience, I gained thirty pounds in one year on the shot, and I was dancing, playing tennis, going to school, and working a part time job. It's not worth it. There is no sure-fire way to get rid of the endometriosis though, but I have heard that pregnancy is a good way to put it into remission. But the only way that I would suggest that is if you are in a monogamous relationship and married, or planning on marriage, and if you are old enough and stable enough personally and financially to handle something as severe as that.

It depends on your hormone levels and own body as to how fast it comes back. What other problems do you have? You can contact me via this site and I'll try to help. I had severe endo plus large cysts and fibroids. I chose Lupron treatment, it's a shot every 3 months that cuts hormones which cuts off the growth of all the junk. It does put you in menopause tho, rumor has it that Mayan abdominal massage is supposed to help problems too but I have not seen any clinical trials or authentic information on that.

I know women who are seeing great results - their endo even disappearing - by using natural progesterone cream. It's so much safer than the synthetic hormones, and will help you avoid a hysterectomy!

It could be months to years - there are medicines that you can take (including the Mirena IUD) that can help to prevent endometriosis from returning - none of them are 100% though.
