Dear Abby is written by Abigail Van Buren, also know as Jeanne Philllips, and was founded by her mother, Pauline Phillips.
I truly do not know if she answers every letter. But why not email her.

I am sure she gets tons of mail.

I believe the real Dear Abby died and her daughter has taken over the column.

well i don't think it's the original abby anymore; i think it's a relative of hers, but i'm sure she answers you personally--when she answers-i'm sure she doesn't have time to get to everyone's questions.
